Peter and Ping is a small family firm consisting of mother and daughter as the main guides and 3-4 other guides.
We have a great interest in literature in common as well as an interest in the history of Copenhagen, and we all have degrees in literature.
Our firm makes literary walks in and around Copenhagen, and the main purpose is to make writers, texts, and city districts interact.
At present we cover more than 30 different walks, and we keep introducing new walks, inspired by new reading and people we meet when we walk. It's a great delight to us, and we hope you'll enjoy it too.
In the following pages you can read about some of our international writers, such as Hans Christian Andersen, Søren Kierkegaard, Georg Brandes, and Karen Blixen.
We also include Henrik Ibsen. Admittedly, he was Norwegian, but Denmark and Norway shared the same king for more than 500 years, and Ibsen's impact on Danish (and world!) literature has been enormous.
A little background
Peter and Ping was established in the summer of 2004, inspired by London Walks, but on a much smaller scale.
We do not wish to expand too much. Like Denmark, we prefer to stay small! But our aim is to inspire Scandinavians, as well as people from abroad, and make them study and enjoy our literature!
Join us for a walk. Or even better: phone/mail us and order your own walk in English. We make group tours for only 10 people (and up to 30). They last between one and a half and two hours and take you through some interesting streets - often off the beaten tracks.
